The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it will hold a Credit Ratings Roundtable on May 14 in response to a recent staff report on credit ratings and related matters.

The event will be held at the SEC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and will be open to the public and webcast live on the SEC’s website. Information on the agenda and participants will be issued at a later date.

A recent report by the SEC staff, required by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, recommended that the Commission convene a roundtable to discuss the staff’s report. The roundtable will provide a forum for discussion of the staff’s Report on Assigned Credit Ratings.
