Mutual fund costs reduce returns to investors, so it’s important to compare the costs of owning different mutual funds to see how those costs add up over time.

Fund prospectuses include cost data in a standardized fee table to facilitate comparisons. Online cost calculators also are available, including the Fund Analyzer from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
