Tonia Tornatore currently serves as Senior Enforcement and Auditing Counsel in the Office of Chief Counsel in the Office of the Investor Advocate. Her contribution rounds out the enforcement, accounting, and auditing expertise in the Office of the Investor Advocate.
Prior to joining the Office of the Investor Advocate, Ms. Tornatore was a staff attorney in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement for sixteen years where she prosecuted and investigated securities violations involving accounting fraud, auditor misconduct, insider trading, bribery, and manipulative trading. Before joining the SEC staff, she was a trial attorney in the Commercial Litigation Branch of the Department of Justice, Civil Division. She clerked for Judge Kenneth R. Harkins of the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC. She received her B.B.A. from James Madison University and her J.D. from Duquesne University. She is a licensed certified public accountant
